Malta 2k, 3k & 5k Trail Race - October 20th 2024

The Malta 5k Trail Race course begin at the soccer fields and quickly enters some of the best maintained trails in the area at 100 Acre Woods.

Most of the course is covered in stone dust and 6' wide. Other sections are on soft ground that feels like you are immersed in nature. This course is for everyone that loves to run or hike on trails with beautiful scenery the whole way! #Malta5kTrailRace

Volunteers from Roundabout Runners Club maintain these trails. 100% of proceeds from the event go to activities that support the club efforts to keep these trails in great shape!

Online Registration closed. Can register by 8:45am at the event for $30

When does the race start?

8:30am = 2k race start

9:00am = 3k race start

9:30am = 5k race start

Where is Packet Pickup?

Packet Pickup will take place the morning of the event, between Parking & and the Finish line. Please arrive in time to retrieve your bib and warm up.

Where is the starting/finish line & parking?

You can park at Luther Forest Athletic Fields, 30 Rocket Way, Malta, NY.

The START / FINISH lines will both be at the soccer fields for spectators to conveniently support.

How much is donated to the 501c3?

100% of proceeds go to the local kids/adult running club to afford resources(gravel/equipment/materials) to keep these trail in a great condition for Cross Country running groups. Club members volunteer their time and resources to upgrade these trails and are organize this event. The Race Director nor committee receive financial compensation.

Are there awards?

Each 2k/3k/5k finisher will receive a medal at the finish line.

5k race will provide trophies for overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers for men and women categories. They will be recognized soon after they finish.

5k finishers will be able to view live results after crossing the line and know their placement. If they are an age group winner, there will be smaller trophies for them to pick up smaller version of the trophy at the swag table. They can take their own pictures on the podium. No formal ceremony for age group winners

The 5k age group print out will consist of the following categories: 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69- 70-79 80+

Is this a certified Course and is there a map?

No. This is not a certified, but we did our best to measure the distance and adjusted the finish line to be as close to 5k as possible. You can down a GPS file from here or refer to the photos at the bottom of the page for each course map.

Do I get anything besides a beautiful run in the forest?

The thrill of running through the woods with fellow trail runners is amazing. There will be a homemade finishers medals for all finishers. The race fee was reduce so only those who want an event shirt can pay separately for one at the event(first come, first serve). There will be some small swag items available for free as well.

Can I run with a stroller?

The path is wide enough for strollers, but we are not allowing strollers during this event due to safety concerns on the trail. There are steep ridges, water bars and hills that are not conducive to pushing a stroller. A strong stroller pusher attempted it on a practice run and swore he would never do it again.

Can I run with my dog?

The park does allow pets in general, but for this event we want to ensure all participants feel safe where there are ridges and hill climbs. Where will be the race results be posted?

Results will be uploaded to the this website and the Facebook/Instagram accounts when available.
